Sustainable procurement workshops with Chris Browne: 4–5 November 2009
The QGCPO hosted two one?day workshops presented by Chris Browne, Chief Advisor and Project Manager supporting the Government Procurement Reform project in New Zealand and works for Ministry of Economic Development, and international expert in sustainable procurement.
The workshops provided hands on training on:
- developing a sustainable procurement strategy
- identification of sustainability priorities
- identifying sustainability procurement risks in contracts
- developing actions to manage risks.
The workshops were targeted at procurement professionals involved in establishing and managing procurement arrangements, and those developing procurement guidance and facilitating improvements in sustainable procurement capability.
Griffith University Sustainability in Business Series 2009
Griffith University hosts regular free public lectures in their "Sustainability in Business Series". The program is designed to promote debate and discussion of key issues such as climate change, sustainability and corporate responsibility and the impact of these on sustainable business.
Procurement Professionals Forum – May 2009
The second in a series of forums hosted by QGCPO, the Procurement Professionals Forum on sustainable procurement was held on Tuesday 19 May and attended by over 100 procurement professionals.
Guest speakers included Vivienne Buss, Manager, Sustainable Procurement, QGCPO; and Cameron Hoffman, Partner/Senior Planner, Conics.

National Sustainable Procurement Conference 2008
The National Sustainable Procurement Conference was hosted by the Department of Public Works on 18-19 September 2008 at the Hilton Hotel in Brisbane. It was the fourth in the series previously known as the National Buying Green Conferences. Click here for more information.
